Rental Conditions
Drivers must be over 21 years of age and must be on a full licence. Overseas drivers must either have an international license or an english-translated license.
Insurance Conditions
Vehicles are insured subject to the terms of the agreement and are subject to the following excesses:
Drivers over 25 years of age, an excess of $1,500 applies. This amount can be reduced to $550 by paying an additional $15 per day.
Drivers over 21 years but under 25 years, an excess of $2,000 applies. This can be reduced to $1,500 by paying an additional $15 per day.
An additional excess of $750 for drivers over 25 years, or $2000 for over 21 but under 25 years, applies for damage sustained as a result of driving on unsealed roads, or in the event of a single vehicle accident.
Insurance does not include the following:
- Personal belongings of the renter -we would recommend the renter take out their own personal insurance;
- Damage caused by wilful misconduct or driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs;
- Cost to replace keys where they have been lost and the fee of getting the new keys to the renter;
- Overhead and under body damage to the vehicle;
- If vehicle has been stuck or bogged on unsuitable roads the recovering vehicle is at the renter's cost;
- Incorrect use of fuel (fuel being diesel or petrol). The renter is responsible for any costs associated;
- Any water damage to vehicle either internal or external;
- No vehicle is to be driven on unsealed roads and where ever this is proven a fee will be applied. The only exception to this is the gravel roads on Bruny Island.
Please note that in the event that the Vehicle is written off or in a major accident you will be liable and will forfeit the Security Bond and the Excess will be payable.
Security Bond
A security bond of $300 is required upon hiring of vehicle (refundable). This is to ensure the vehicle is returned in good, clean condition (windscreen, tyres, etc) and with an equal amount of fuel when hired.
Traffic Infringements
Tassie Motor Shacks Camper Rentals reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, traffic infringements, and associated administration costs and/or accidents including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The administration fee per fine, in addition to the fine, will be AU$50.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled up to 24 days prior to pick up no fee is charged. If cancelled 11 to 24 days prior to pick up, a fee of 20 percent of the total rental cost will be charged. If cancelled 5 to 10 days prior to pick up, a fee of 50 percent of the total rental cost will be charged. If cancelled within 3 days prior to pick up, or if the renter does not collect the vehicle, the full amount of the total rental cost will be charged.
If the vehicle is returned early for any reason, no refund will be given.
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us and we take every care to ensure that any personal information obtained in the process of your enquiry or booking is handled in accordance with Australian Privacy Laws.
Your information will not be sold, given or utilised for any purpose other than in accordance with providing the services you have requested. The information we collect is necessary to providing information or service and is handled in confidence by our staff at all times.
We may be bound legally to provide your information to certain parties, for example government requirements or in relation to law provisions.
We may use you information to provide you with offers or information that may be of interest to you for future marketing campaigns. Please contact us if you prefer not to receive any such material or email.
